Combined North Carolina Concealed Handgun and 100 Round Pistol Safety Certification

Class Dates

Our Concealed Carry classes offer a different experience than any other offered in North Carolina.

  • Ideal for new shooters. Our classes are small, safe and relaxed. Many of our students have never shot a pistol before! That’s fine by us, we exceed the state requirement at the range and love teaching new shooters.
  • We shoot 150 rounds. We want you to leave with more than just a piece of paper! The state requirement is 30 rounds, 10 each from 3, 5, and 7 yards. Honestly that’s not enough to teach shooting fundamentals. Surefire students will shoot from 1, 3, 5, and 7 yards and learn to shoot one handed from both the dominant and nondominant hand!
  • 1:5 instructor to student ratio. The state requires 8 hours of instruction to receive your certificate. That’s quite a time investment and we want to honor that investment with quality instruction. With a 1 instructor for every 5 students, Surefire instructors have time to work with each student at the range to provide more individual instruction.
  • Custom classes for your groups. Want to take the class with people you know and your own location? No problem, we can schedule instructors for groups up to 15! Contact us and let us meet your needs.
  • 100 Round Pistol Safety Certificate. For those extra rounds down range, Surefire students receive a 100 Round Pistol Safety Certificate. Many public ranges will take proof of a safety course in lieu of taking training on site to use their facility. Students who complete our course demonstrate safe gun handling skills and this certificate is our way of recognizing that accomplishment.

Advanced Concealed Carry

Class Dates

Comfortable with pistol shooting and daily carry but ready to take that next step? This class adds the next level set of skills to grow your confidence when carrying for self defense.

  • 250 Round Course of Fire
  • Taught With Your Gear. Your holster, your gun.
  • Taught From Your Chosen Carry Position. Want to pocket carry, or carry from the appendix? We’ll tailor the class to your choice.
  • 4 Steps of the Draw. We teach and practice the draw by breaking down into 4 steps
  • Shooting and Moving. Standing still in a gun fight is a bad idea. Understanding how to move when shooting is critical.
  • Magazine Changes. You don’t want to find yourself in the situation, but if you do, this is must have training.
  • Malfunction Mitigation. The loudest noise in a gun fight is the “click” heard during a misfire.

NRA Basic Pistol Course Phase

Class Dates

If you are new to pistol shooting, the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course is an informative and fun way to get started. The course is completed in two phases beginning with a work at your own pace online course. The online phase offers a comprehensive easy-to-understand overview of firearms safety, nomenclature, and pistol shooting fundamentals.

Once Phase 1 is complete, students will attend Phase 2 at a private outdoor range. During Phase II our instructors take the information from the online course into the real world as we guide the students into their first live fire range experience.
